Features a patented, ergonomic design which feels lighter and more comfortable. By contouring to the natural shape of the body, it hangs asymmetrically redistributing the weight through the length of the whole back, not just from one point on the shoulder, thus reducing stress on the shoulders, neck and back.

We love wearing shoes. All kinds—sandals, pumps, loafers and clogs. We understand the precise role each pair of black shoes plays in a woman’s wardrobe and we applaud it. We appreciate the fact that you’ve got a million things to do and the last thing you need is aching feet. We know the damage caused by bad shoes, whether they injure the foot, ankle, knees or the ego.We are a few seasoned shoe developers who believe that footwear should support a woman’s sense of wellbeing as well as her sense of style. That’s why we designed Aravon, casual footwear with remarkable fit, comfort, performance and style.

Birkenstock USA began over 40 years ago when our founder, Margot Fraser, had a dream of sharing the comfort and health benefits of Birkenstock footwear. A few years earlier, while visiting a German resort, she had tried on her first pair and was extremely impressed at how good they felt. From there, Margot learned that the original Birkenstock contoured footbed was invented and manufactured in Germany by Konrad Birkenstock in 1897. In fact, the Birkenstock family has been shoemakers for over 230 years – more than two centuries of creating and perfecting a tradition of walking comfort.

ECCO's roots in defying convention run deep. 40 years ago in the small southern Jutland town of Bredebro, Denmark, Karl Toosbuy pioneered a revolution in footwear, choosing comfort over conformity. Tired of having his feet mold to his shoes, he charged that the foot should lead the shoe. A new type of footwear was born.

Smartwool® was born with comfortable performance in mind. The founders were New England ski instructors struggling to keep their feet warm. After trying a variety of materials, they rediscovered an age old classic: wool. But while these socks may have been warm, they were itchy and shrank in the wash. So they worked on a process to make them soft and easy to care for. Smartwool® was born on a simple tenet: keeping feet comfortable in all conditions. Try a pair and see why "Wearing is Believing".

Stride Rite

Only Stride Rite shoes can give your child an advantage now, and for years to come. Because they'll feel the right shoes far beyond their growing feet. They'll feel them in the development of straight spines, healthy knees, strong bodies - in the way they walk and carry themselves for the rest of their lives. And when it comes to creating the right shoes, no one else comes close to Stride Rite. We've learned that to design shoes for the unique way feet develop, using the latest technology and the best materials, is both a craft and a science.

Teva, the original sport sandal, was initially designed for river rafting in 1984 by Grand Canyon river guide Mark Thatcher. At first, Teva was known only as a sports sandal with its unique patented strapping system. Since 1994, however, the Teva line has also included fashionable leather casuals that are ideal leisure-wear for men, women and children. Deckers’ success with Teva was evidenced when Deckers was awarded "Company of the Year" by Footwear News in 1992.

The North Face

We are named for the coldest, most unforviging side of a mountain.  We have helped explorers reach the most unfathomable heights of the Himalayas.  But The North Face legend beings, ironically, on a beach.  More precisely, San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood, at an altitude of only 150 feet above sea level.  It was here in 1966 that two hiking enthusiasts resolved to follow their passions and founded a small mountaineering retail store.

"Walking different" means not thinking of walking as a mechanical means of movement from one point to another, but instead walking as an opportunity to go your own way.
That is why Think! thought about what makes shoes comfortable. Think! rethought their material selection and production processes. And thought ahead when it comes to design and the personalities of shoe-wearing customers.

In the early 1980's, Alvaro Z. Gallegos was running an average of seven miles a day. He suffered all the typical injuries associated with running—heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, knee trouble, hip pain, and back pain. And although he owned a shoe store at the time and had access to all types of running shoes, he was unable to find a shoe that eased his pain.

Realizing that the source of his pain was impact, Al reasoned that putting a “shock-absorber” in the heel of his shoe would reduce the force of impact. And as an added benefit, a spring would provide some form of energy return, to help him run faster and farther.
