Simple
9/19/2008
It has been far too long since the blog has been updated.  I am so sorry.  We have been so busy with getting ready for back to school and then going through back to school, that quite honestly, I forgot to blog.

So, sitting down this morning planning my day, I figured now was a good time to get back to the blog.

I thought we should formally introduce you to Simple Shoes.  A cool little company that started out in 1991 as, sort of, the anti-shoe company.  They thought most shoes were over hyped, over teched, and just too much.  For 14 years they went through life like that.  In 2005 Simple brought out two styles of Green Toe shoes.  They were quite simply, pun intended, an all natural shoe.

In 2006 Simple committed to making their product 100% sustainable.  This may have been when one of our buyers, Brian, became so enamored with them.  They begin using 100% post consumer recycled foot forms and shoe boxes.

It was in 2007 when Simple began to introduce recycled products into their shoes.  You name it, it's in there.  They have car tire bottoms, plastic bottle shoe laces, bike tires.  Simple also introduced an all organic cotton footbed.  The end result, EcoSneaks.

I'll wrap this up with the skinny on Simple.  They are cool shoes.  Maybe not everything that Fred Toenges Shoes has been known for, but you don't stay in business 117 years and not change.

Next time we'll get a couple of first hand experiences from the first ever Fort 4 Fitness Half Marathon.  We wish Candace, Peter, and Brian the best of luck.

I'd like to wish my Mom a Happy Birthday!  Today is her big day.  It confirms you can be 29 for many, many years.  And now the world knows.

Go Feet Nerds.
