Time to move outdoors
4/18/2008
It's that time. The weather has finally moved to spring. Or at least springish. That can only mean it's time to run outside.
We at Fred Toenges have made a little buzz in the running community. As you may have read in the paper, we have expanded our running department. We now carry the top 5 brands of running shoes as published by Runner's World magazine. They are Asics, Brooks, Saucony, New Balance, and Nike. This is a truly exciting time for everyone involved.
Perhaps even more exciting is our newly formed running club. Nameless, as of now, we are going to start easy. This will allow for runners of all skill levels to enjoy some street time. You can check out the map of the route here.
We have two runs planned. One is about 5k or 3 miles and the other will continue to 10k or 6 miles. Like I said, they will start out easy. We're looking at 8 to 10 minute miles. As we progress will work on training for races and increasing time and distance.
One huge benefit we have is our Video Gate Analysis. Our state of the art analysis offers everything from basic shoe comparison to sophisticated leg, ankle, and hip angles and lengths.
This provides insightful feedback to runners with pain and runners just looking for an edge. There are other benefits too. Like the nifty Lightning Dry New Balance Fred Toenges running shirts and a super secret special discount on running shoes and apparel.
Sign up for the running club is available at the store. We are meeting 4/19 at 7 am for our first run. You can also give us a call at 484-4742 or email us by clicking here.
Finally, a special Congratulations to Peter. He recently ran the St. Louis Marathon. In his first marathon he finished just under 3 hours. More importantly he qualified for the Boston Marathon. Great job.
We look forward to seeing you all in the morning.
